Ok Affiliate Managers, Tell me what to do!
I seem to have this constant problem, especially with Linkshare programs..
“We regret to inform you that [insert program here] has chosen not to accept you into their affiliate program at this time. The reason for this decision may be as follows:
* Inability to access Web site
* Web site not yet live
* Inappropriate material on sitePlease feel free to re-apply with [insert program here] whenever you feel you have been able to address the concern(s) listed above.”
First of all, My site IS accessible & live, and there isn’t a stitch of “Inappropriate material” on it. This is a problem I run into a lot with different Affiliate programs. I have a lot of sites. I’ve added a lot of site since joining most of these programs so the the site listed as my primary site, may not be the one intended for their offers.
While most of the network sites offer a place to enter additional sites… Does anyone look at those? Apparently not. It seems I have to do this email dance EVERY DAMN TIME. I reply explaining that the primary site listed isn’t the intended site for their offers. If I’m lucky enough to even get a response, I can usually get approved.
Linkshare has been my biggest headache in this area. My Primary site is off-line because the main merchants (from another network) program is currently off-line, so I set it to “Maintenance Mode” for now in the hopes that they’ll come back on line. My other option is to replace 1000+ product links which makes my head hurt just thinking about it.
Problem is, most of the time I get no response from emails back to the AM or by the time I do, I’ve already missed the specific offer that prompted me to join. I don’t want to have to go in and change my primary site every time I apply to a merchants program. I may apply to 5 programs some days so it wouldn’t make sense anyway.
These affiliate networks need to change the application process so you can specify which site will be used for the offers.
