Problem with being “The New Guy”
Monday, April 21st, 2008
While I’m not exactly new to Affiliate marketing, I do often create new sites. Sometimes it may be for a niche that I just discovered and want to jump into to test the waters. Well… Along with this you need to sign up for those programs. Problem is, your new site has zero traffic and your application is declined. It’s happened to me a million times.
I know the site I have are relevant to the product, I have no offensive material on them so the last reason (which they usually lest out the possibilities in their denial email) is lack of visitors. My site is 48 hours old!
Today I got an email from a company for whom I am an affiliate but got jabbed again!
“Many of you operate coupon or discount code oriented sites. If you have a strong visitor audience, we are happy to create a special discount code for you, along with creative targeted for your site. You have only to request it.”
For the site in question I do get visitors. Not a lot but I’m working on it. It’s only 3 weeks old! And don’t you think that having an exclusive deal that isn’t on 4 million other sites would help get more visitors? I do.
Oh well, I’ll keep plugging along I guess. My plan is that one day, These guys will be coming to me asking me to join their program. I’ll save a copy of the generic rejection letter so I have something to send them in reply when they do. ![]()
