My newest site

Coupon Codes CorralWhether you think it sucks or not, I’m pretty proud of my newest site. It’s another Coupon Codes site, which is mostly what I do. And here it is… CouponCodesCorral

Not being a programmer or guru of any sort, I’ve put in many hours to get it to where it is today. It still needs a lot and I’m constantly changing my mind about certain things. The category feeds are killer. It’s taking forever to get them done but I’m getting there.

I searched and searched and couldn’t find anything that did what I wanted so I just went with feedburner. When all is said and done, I’ll have over a thousand feeds to choose from. :D

And again, this site is completely done in wordpress.
The logo (horse) being used isn’t mine, I found it somewhere but don’t remember at the moment .As soon as the sitegets going I plan on going to SOS Factory to get myself a unique mascot designed.

As for my content… I get “Promotional Data feeds” from CJ. They’re a mess and take toms of editing before I can use them. Still, they do make my life slightly easier. I also use LinkShare RSS Feeds and a few others. Though those are down at the moment.

That’s about it, Just thought I’d unveil my new site and will probably be posting more about it later.

And remember, If you’re looking for Coupon Codes, think CouponCodesCorral ;)

Off-Line Advertising for Affiliate Marketing

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

Affilate Mrketing While I’m sure just about everyone has see those Singles ads on the exit ramps and on the curbs of busy streets (I believe that company has been sued a million times), I’m wondering where others have seen off line advertising for affiliate sites.

Maybe you’ve heard the commercials for freethinlaptop, seen the diet offers in the classifieds or that stupid crazy like a fox commercial, but where else? We were on the “El”/”L” yesterday on our way to the Cubs game when I spotted the ad pictured. Not sure what the cost of that could be or how effective it is…

Well that’s pretty much it not much of a post just thought it was interesting.

No More IE6

As of today, I’m Done with IE6!

One of the reasons for my lack of posting here is I have spent the last few months slaving of some sites I’ve been working on. After all that time I’ve come to a decision that I will no longer support IE6 with my sites.

I’m Done, Finished, FIN, See ya!, Good Bye! Don’t let the door hit you on the way out!

I am so sick & tired of working on site for what seems like for ever only to look with wide eyed horror as I bring them up in IE6. Well no more!

As of this posting, I won’t do it. Tonight I’ll be upgrading the only PC in my house that still has IE6 on it. I’m not even going to look. Looking at the stats it looks like the number of IE6 users is steadily declining anyway.

stats

Besides, your opinion may vary but frankly, my time is too valuable to me to spend more time tweaking a site for the 25% of IE6 users that I spend building it for everyone else. Covering 75% is good enough for me.

Plus I figure if I were to have a conversion rate of say, 6% (6 sales per hundred visitors, right?), odds are that none of those sales came from the 25 IE6 visitors, or maybe they all did who knows. Honestly, I don’t care anymore. I am no longer supporting or bending over backwards for IE6 users and if they don’t like it, well then, just don’t come to my site I don’t really need you anyway. Got it?

If you are still supporting this monstrosity I would plead with you to stop! It’s time has come and it needs to go away now.
